A month into my time at MIT I can finally say I’ve drunk from the firehose and tasted it vicious glory; there’s plenty I could say! And I will say those things eventually, but this past week has been a wild ride. To quantify it: Five hours of sleep per night, on average Four birthdays on my dorm hall (one of them was mine!) Three big-boy exams/midterms Two existential crisis One visitor from home! All of this amazing and terrible chaos culminated in me sitting in my hall’s kitchen at five AM this morning, trying to study for a test I had today and failing pretty miserably. So, for the sake of my sanity, I diverted my attention and ended up writing poetry! I used to do this all the time, but as senior year of high school got busy and other interests took hold, I kind of dropped it. Maybe the exhaustion kickstarted my creative energy? The nice thing is that I don’t really care if it’s good or not. I did it. It felt nice to throw caution to the wind and just do it. After all of last weeks craziness, watching the sun rise with toast in one hand and a pen in the other made me feel human again. It probably hurt me during my test, but I’m okay with that. I literally don’t have the mental capacity to do any other post besides this one. Not right now. Biography of Cory Booker, Democratic U.S. Senator Cory Booker is an American politician and rising star in the Democratic Party who is considered a likely candidate for president in the 2020 election. He is a former  mayor of Newark, New Jersey, who once considered challenging the most popular governor in the U.S.,  Republican Gov. Chris Christie,  but chose instead to seek election to the U.S. Senate. Booker has taken credit for reviving one of American most notorious failed cities and emerged as one of President Donald Trumps fiercest critics.   Early Years Booker was born to  Carolyn and Cary Booker, both executives at the IBM computer company, on April 27, 1969, in Washington, D.C. He was raised from a young age in Newark, New Jersey, and earned a football scholarship to Stanford University after graduating from Northern Valley Regional High School in Old Tappan, New Jersey, in 1987. He had been a football standout in high school but decided that athletics would be his ticket and not my destination. Booker earned both a bachelors degree political science and masters degree in sociology from Stanford University and an honors degree in history at Oxford University. He was a Rhodes Scholar and completed his law degree at Yale University. Political Career Booker began work  as a staff attorney for the Urban Justice Center, a nonprofit legal-services and advocacy agency in Newark, after earning his law degree. He was stationed in East Harlem at a time when police were aggressively sweeping many of the areas young people into the criminal justice system. Booker was elected to the Newark city council at age 29 and served from 1998 to 2002. In 2006, at age 37, he was first elected Newark mayor and heads the states largest, and perhaps most troubled, city. He was re-elected Newark mayor in 2010. He turned down an offer from President Barack Obama in 2009 to head the newly created White House Office of Urban Affairs Policy. Booker said he was considering a run for governor against Christie, whose  popularity surged  largely due to his handling of Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and  was seeking a second term  in 2013. In June of that year, he announced he would seek the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by the death of U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg, who died at age 89. In 2011, Time magazine named Booker one of the 100 most influential people. From this viewpoint, the literature review is divided into three main sections: BOP inititiative, buyer behavior and marketing strategies. It examines some key elements of the BOP initiative companies motivation; the BOP business model; the role of micro finance. With a number of successful stories acknowledged in the literature, the sectio n also reviews how to adopt MNCs marketing mix to attend the BOP profitably. 3.2. Part 1: Poverty in Business Perspectives Billions of people living in the extreme poverty, who are in many cases denied access to proper services, energy, water, health, and above all the opportunities to improve their economic and social outlook, is a significant societal problem. Even though the high economic growth of large-population countries, such as China and India, has brought about many job opportunities and brought down the overall poverty  level, it is still not sufficient to reach other targets in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) (World Bank, 2004). Along with the increasing concern of NGOs and other non profit organization towards poverty alleviation, business perspectives have been gradually positioned as a useful tool in contributing to poverty reduction. However, companies must be willing to invest time, resources and training to insure that the producers create products with some barriers to entry and are asonable level of productivity. BOP projects must be integrated into key areas in operations where decisions on new products and markets are made and executed. For most companies, BOP therefore requires comprehensive organizational change and heavy involvement of key business areas responsible for new market creation- something that far exceeds what is required to implement most other sustainability activities. Therefore, while there are potentially compelling reasons for widening the definition of market opportunities beyond consumer goods for low-income segments, the following part of literature review focuses on the BOP concept in its original form, i.e., as a business strategy aimed at selling profit-seeking products to low-income segments while simultaneously contributing to the resolution of significant societal problems in these regions.

Women s rights have been a topic of debate for many years. Over many decades, the issues of women’s rights has continued to change. Equality is a term that many use when speaking of women’s rights. Equality in this text referees that both men and women should have equal treatment in all areas of life. Despite that it has gotten better is some areas, we still have many areas that need a lot of work. Women continue to be at a disadvantage in many different areas of our society. Inequality because of a person’s gender causes problems among the sexes. Going back to the passing of the 19th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States in 1920, which gave women the right to vote. Are women treated equally in 2016, or if not what areas still need to be addressed. Are women treated differently than men in society in regards to pay in the workplace and voting? Many have studied to see if women s equality has improved over the years, and most would agree that yes i t has improved. But there are studies that show that there is still room for much improvement. The ethical issues are huge within this subject. Societies have moral codes that teach people how they should behave, and what is right or wrong. With this being said the way women are treated should be equal to men because it is what is ethically correct. Every society makes decisions based on what we have been taught, so we must teach those coming after us that women should be treated equal to male counterparts.
